Press Release
Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present to the moon and back, a group exhibition of paintings by gallery artists.
Select highlights include William Betts’s Full Moon, El Cuyo Yucatan, 03/21/2019, a large acrylic painting of the moon created from laser-cut stencils. Beau Carey paints invented landscapes from memory and photographs, creating patterned and stacked mountain ranges with colorful shapes and negative space. Jeff Kellar paints many layers of resin and clay pigment onto aluminum panels, then scrapes and repaints to build refined minimal surfaces. Raychael Stine paints gestural images of dogs on found postcards, leaving areas of the postcard as part of the composition. Also included are works by Dozier Bell, Thomas Frontini, Jenna Kuiper, Gillian Stoneburner, and Eric Tillinghast.
