Press Release

Richard Levy Gallery is pleased present Reconfigure, a group exhibition curated by Adam Henry. Reconfigure presents works by Augusto Arbizo, Matthew Bakkom, Torsten Burns, Marsha Cottrell, Adam Henry, Claire Jervert, Sarah Oppenheimer, Arthur Ou, Stevie Rexroth, Suzanne Song, and Antonio Vigil.

Eleven emerging artists from California, New York, Connecticut, and Minnesota are brought together for an exhibition that explores an artist’s impulse to systematically break apart pre-existing materials and reorder them. Each artist rearranges an initial order to create new forms and ideas. Reconfigure includes video, painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and photography.

Adam Henry considers curating this show as an extension of his own artwork. He chose the work for Reconfigure as a way to expand his own understanding of what it means for an artist to use the structural rearrangement of parts as an impulse in their work. Henry was a UNM undergraduate and later earned an MFA from Yale. He currently lives and works in New York City.
