Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present new paintings by Milan based painter, Marco Casentini. The paintings are a discussion of “reality”, drawing from thumbprints of memory and how each of these memories is altered by perception. Inspired by Rothko, Matisse, Reinhardt, LeWitt, and Judd (to name a few), the artist seductively a engages a viewers five senses by utilizing color and geometry offering up an experience that is both dynamic and delightful.

Marco Casentini was born in Le Spezia, Italy in 1961 and currently lives and works in Milan, Italy. He was educated at the Academemia di Belle Arti in Carrara in addition to the college of Art in Carrara, receiving his advanced degree in 1980. Casentini’s work is included in many prominent public and private collections around the world including Musee de l’Art Concret, Mouans-Sartoux in Côte d’Azur and the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in Calasetta. He is scheduled for a solo exhibition in 2008 at the Museum für Konkrete Kunst in Germany, which will include a catalog. The artist is also a 2005 recipient of the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant
