Biography

Land of Plenty is a body of work, a studio and a way of life developed by interdisciplinary artist Jackie Riccio. Her artistic practice includes experimental painting, textile, installation, costume, and community organization. Riccio creates avant-garde mixed media paintings on canvas that often incorporate a variety of materials such as yarn, pompoms, industrial materials etc. and utilizing processes historically associated with craft. The artist reminds us that art can be made with common materials found everywhere around us.
Jackie Riccio (b. 1992) is an organizing member of The Palace Collective (Berlin/NM) and Leftover Sewing (Berlin/NM). She has exhibited across the United States and in Canada and internationally in Germany, Poland, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. Riccio studied printmaking and ceramics at Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, NM and Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore MD. She currently lives and works in Albuquerque, NM.
