Biography and Information

Biography

Land of Plenty is a body of work, a studio, a way of life, and an exhibition developed by interdisciplinary artist Jackie Riccio. Land of Plenty includes murals, three-dimensional paintings, tufting, textiles, and collage. Blurring the boundaries between life and art, Riccio transforms the gallery into a pseudo-domestic space. Riccio describes her paintings as metaphysical abstractions where joyful mark-making reminds viewers of extraordinary moments in everyday life.

Jackie Riccio’s (b. 1992) artistic practice includes experimental painting, textile, installation, costume, and community organization. She is an organizing member of the Palace Collective and Leftover Sewing. She has exhibited across the United States and in Canada and internationally in Germany, Poland, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. Riccio studied printmaking and ceramics at Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, and Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. She currently lives and works in Philadelphia.
