Hayley Rheagan

Biography

Hayley Rheagan plays withabstracting urban architecture by using the camera’s tendency to flatten space. With her keen eye for symmetry and color, she uses her camera as a cropping tool to capture geometric patterns found in buildings and sidewalks and transform them into vibrant compositions. The result is both a documentation of familiar cityscapes and an abstract composition. Rheagan currently lives and works in New Mexico.

This body of work examines the particularity of place. I am able to transform naturally found geometric shapes and patterns from seemingly mundane scenes into colorful abstractions that ultimately propose new kinds of space. —Hayley Rheagan
