Press Release
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present Good Impressions, a group exhibition featuring limited-edition prints by seventeen world-renowned artists. This exhibition highlights the technical versatility of the medium, showcasing screenprints, linocuts, intaglios, lithographs, woodblocks, etchings, pigment prints, and printed-material collages.
Good Impressions is presented in partnership with the ABQ Print Crawl, a one-day city-wide event on April 18. This self-guided tour invites the public to explore local print shops and galleries throughout the city.
The exhibition features prolific contemporary artists, including three distinguished New Mexico-based printmakers. Works by Karsten Creightney (Albuquerque), Nicola López (Santa Fe), and Paula Wilson (Carrizozo) demonstrate the groundbreaking ways regional artists are pushing the boundaries of the medium. Additional works include screenprints by Richard Estes, Martin Creed, Jonas Wood, Derrick Adams, Alex Katz, Jeffrey Gibson, and Yinka Shonibare; a woodblock by Polly Apfelbaum; giclées by Damien Hirst; linocuts and photogravures by Sol LeWitt and Sachiko Cho; etchings by Mel Bochner, Vija Celmins, and Rose B. Simpson; and lithographs by Ed Ruscha.
The ABQ Print Crawl celebrates Albuquerque’s vibrant print community, offering both experts and newcomers a chance to deepen their understanding of the craft. Participating venues include the Center for the Book at Special Collections Library, Next Chapter Studio, Remarque Print Workshop, Risolana, and more. Participants who collect stamps at each location will be entered into a grand prize drawing held during the culminating reception at Richard Levy Gallery, which is also open to the public. Additional information can be found on the Albuquerque Public Library website.
