A Gala Holiday Ornament Auction is being held by Friends of Art, the community support group for University Art Museums. This art event takes places on Friday, November 16 at the Richard Levy Gallery, 514 Central Avenue SW.

The ornaments in this extraordinary show have been made by over seventy different artists, among them Constance DeJong, Barbara Grothus, Holly Roberts, Ed Waddaway, Suzanne Sbarge, Patrick Nagatani. All proceeds from this Friends of Art auction go to support UNM’s Art Museum.

Through events like this sale, the Friends of Art have helped with hundreds of acquisitions on behalf of the University Art Museum and the Jonson Gallery for over forty years. Among the purchases in the past to which they have contributed are works by Albrecht Dürer, David Hockney, Georgia O’Keefe, Andy Warhol, Goya, Jasper Johns, and more.

This Gala Holiday Ornament auction offers the opportunity for an affordable art purchase resulting in an expanded art environment for the Albuquerque community.
