Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present a selection of artworks by gallery artists Nikesha Breeze, Karsten Creightney, Welly Fletcher, Olivia Munroe, Jennifer Nehrbass, Alex Ponca Stock, Stephanie J. Woods, and J P 제피. A selection of rare two-dimensional artworks by Larry Bell, Canuppa Hanska Luger and Rose B. Simpson are also presented.
The booth program comprises identity-based works made by artists who hold a connection to the southwest, where the gallery is based. Select highlights include paintings by Nikesha Breeze (Taos), who works from an AfroCentric, AfroFuturistic lens. Karsten Creightney (Albuquerque) makes intricate collages that conceptually center societal mythologies and Black experience. Colorful abstractions by Alex Ponca Stock (Osage Nation/Santa Fe) are made of culturally significant materials to her tribe. J P 제피 (Albuquerque) is a bicultural and bigender multidisciplinary artist who incorporates community, social practice, ceremony and sound into their practice.
Visitors will experience a sampling of the rich and diverse perspectives of artists making identity-based work in New Mexico. The booth program breaks boundaries and stereotypical norms of artwork historically associated with the Land of Enchantment.
