Debra Bloomfield

Four Corners Project
March 27 – April 24

Press Release

Richard Levy Gallery is pleased present Four Corners Project, an exhibition of photographs by Debra Bloomfield.

For over a decade, Debra Bloomfield has photographed landscapes and church interiors throughout the four corners area. The exhibtion includes seven large format landscapes in the front gallery and and six images captued within churches interiors in this region. Big skies and desolate spaces invite a space to reflect and ponder the last light of evening, wide open space, the smells of the desert, the silence to hear oneself, and the absence of anything man made. Bloomfield’s images convey both a sense of timelessness and a moment where time is halted. The artist travels off the beaten path to capture the magnificence of the four corners area and takes her audience with her.

Debra Bloomfield is a photographer and educator at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work is featured in many private and public collections around the world, including the San Francisco Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, the Oakland Museum, and the Seattle Art Museum.
