Cynthia Greig manipulates photography to expand our understanding of perception. Taking food and household objects as her subjects, Greig paints them white, outlines them in graphite and photographs them with a white background, in a white frame. One crucial detail of each object, however, is often left untouched in contrast to its blanched 2-D rendering. She investigates the truth value many assign to photographs and probes the illusory nature of representation with humor and irony.
