Endless Summer
October 6 – November 18

Press Release

Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present Endless Summer, an exhibition of prints and a vintage painting by internationally acclaimed artist Alex Katz, who captures his subjects with elegance and a subtle line. His signature works include brightly colored figures, flowers, and landscapes rendered in bold forms and graphic color fields. Endless Summer transforms the gallery walls into idyllic summer scenes.

Appearing on the American art scene in the 1950s, Alex Katz’s representational figures and environments became influential to Pop artists. Katz studied at the Cooper Union in New York and later transferred to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. His work has been in nearly 200 solo exhibitions internationally since 1954 and is in numerous public collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
