Biography and Information

Biography
Vasher Studio is a collaboration between Max Vasher and Jennifer Vasher.

Plumerai. French, to plume or pluck. “Je te plumerai…” Jennifer Vasher created Plumerai from a photograph of an earlier work. She digitally converted the photograph to a positive/negative image, laser-cut into paper, and embedded into acrylic. The burned laser-cut edges create a lacy design on the white paper base. In collaboration with her architect husband, Max Vasher, she designed panels with the acrylic tile variations. Individual panels can be snapped together by invisible hinges made of neodymium magnets, which allows for a variety of angles and configurations.

A free-standing screen can be created using a minimum of two panels. Single panels can be attached to a wall with a metal strip. The frame is made of hand-grained aluminum. This edition comprises 99 panels, and each panel contains a studio stamp and serial number on the lower edge.

Vasher Studio is artist Jennifer Vasher and her architect/designer husband Max Vasher. Their work was recently shown at Peter’s Projects in Santa Fe, and at 516 Arts in Albuquerque. Jennifer Vasher’s work has been published in Art in America, Working Class Magazine (Brooklyn), ArtInfo.com, and THE Magazine. HerTylenol Room won a project award at the Pulse Art Fair in Miami.
